Environmental Analysis and Testing Working Group Group represents the most advanced and leading environmental laboratories within the UK and meets 4 times a year with leading guest speakers from Government or Industry stakeholders. Members have the ability to raise issues, and discuss pressing policy and regulatory issues of concern. The working group has a forward work programme which is agreed by the Members each year.
This group has excellent relationships with accreditation body UKAS and standards bodies BSI and ISO.
All our Members are able to escalate issues to the working group and add agenda items for discussion. Members are not restricted to one working group and can nominate other colleagues to other groups. Members can also bring along guests by invitation of the secretariat and also bring along public sector clients who many benefit from the information being shared.

Ken Scally – Technical Director, Normec DETS
Dr Scally is an internationally recognised Environmental Forensic Chemist with over 29 years of experience in organic chemistry analysis, forensic data interpretation, analytical chemistry, and quality management. Dr Scally enjoys building, collaborating with, and leading multidisciplinary teams to solve complex and dynamic environmental challenges. Dr Scally enjoys creating opportunities for meaningful technical exchanges with customers.
Dr Scally's expertise lies specifically in organic chemistry, encompassing a deep understanding of degradation pathways, ageing processes, and source correlation indicators pertinent to hydrocarbon releases. Additionally, Dr Scally harbours a keen interest in the realm of Environmental Analysis and Testing Working Group Group"emerging" chemicals, along with the analytical applications of chemical forensics. Dr Scally's involvement as an expert on the BP Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Horizon oil spill litigation project served as a culmination of his laboratory proficiency and technical acumen.
