Join us for our final meeting for 2026,
Guest Speaker: Joff Edevane, Southern Water
Joff Edevane is an environmental and water quality specialist with more than 30 years of experience across the UK water and environmental sectors. Currently working with Southern Water, he leads programmes focused on environmental improvement, water quality, storm overflow reduction, nature-based solutions and catchment management approaches. He has previously held senior environmental regulatory roles at Anglian Water, where he worked closely with the Environment Agency, Defra, Ofwat and a wide range of stakeholders to deliver ecological improvements and innovative environmental outcomes.
A former freshwater biologist, Joff is widely recognised for his expertise in environmental regulation, wastewater management, the Water Framework Directive, environmental permitting and the development of natural capital and ecosystem-based approaches to water management. He is a strong advocate for nature-based solutions, including constructed wetlands and catchment-scale interventions, which can deliver improved water quality, biodiversity enhancement and climate resilience alongside traditional infrastructure.
Throughout his career, Joff has championed collaborative working between water companies, regulators, local authorities and environmental organisations to address complex environmental challenges. His work continues to focus on balancing environmental protection, customer affordability and long-term infrastructure resilience, helping to shape practical solutions for the future of the UK’s water environment.
