He will giving EIA Members an update on the recent publication PFAS action plan.\nUK’s first-ever plan to tackle ‘forever chemicals’ – GOV.UK ( https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uks-first-ever-plan-to-tackle-forever-chemicals )\nPFAS Plan: building a safer future together – GOV.UK ( https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/pfas-plan/pfas-plan-building-a-safer-future-together )\n4 February 2026 – Addressing the risks from Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) – Oral evidence – Committees – UK Parliament ( https://committees.parliament.uk/event/26329 )\nour second speaker will be:\nAndy Ward, Director – Agriculture, Food, Life Science and Asbestos  (AFLA) UKAS, with a degree in Biology, specialising in Forensic Science in 2001. After eight years in the field Andy joined UKAS as an Assessment Manager progressing to Senior Assessment Manager in 2015 as he moved from the Industrial Chemistry section into the newly formed Corporate Customer Team (CCT).\nIn 2022 Andy joined the Forensic Section where he support its growth and development until moving to Agriculture, Food, Life Science and Asbestos  (AFLA) in April 2025 as an Operations Specialist. Andy will continue the conversation started last year when EIA met with the Chair of UKAS Lord Lindsay.\n \n
